Preti’s work is underpinned by a commitment to human rights and to working with people who live in difficult or vulnerable situations.
For Minority Rights Group International she has researched and written extensively about the plight of minorities in Iraq since 2003, working with refugees from some of Iraq’s most ancient religious and ethnic communities who have fled to Jordan and Sweden. She is the editor of several human rights reports and books that focus on the rights of religious, ethnic and linguistic minorities worldwide.
She cofounded ERA Films in 2009. The company has gone on to make documentaries, campaign videos and interactive multimedia including:

An investigative human rights report on the post conflict situation in Iraq with a focus on religious, ethnic and linguistic minorities. The report includes a special focus on intersectional discrimination faced by women from minorities and fieldwork conducted by partner organisations in Iraq.
An investigative human rights report on the situation for Iraq’s religious, ethnic and linguistic minority communities living without refugee status as ‘guests’ in Syria, Jordan and Sweden. The report includes a focus on gender violence and discrimination and includes field research conducted with Iraqi refugees, government officials and UN and NGO representatives in Jordan.
