Preti’s work is underpinned by a commitment to minority rights and to working alongside people who live in difficult or vulnerable situations.
For Minority Rights Group International she reaserched and wrote groundbreaking reports on the plight of minorities in Iraq since 2003, interviewing refugees from some of Iraq’s most ancient religious and ethnic communities who fled to Jordan and Sweden. She is the editor of several human rights reports and books that focus on the rights of religious, ethnic and linguistic minorities worldwide.
She cofounded ERA Films in 2009. The company went on to make documentaries, campaign videos and interactive multimedia including in Qatar on workers rights for the International Trade Union Confederation, and in Rwanda, Kenya and DRC with marginalised groups advocating for better working conditions for themselves.
